A simple explanation of allergies: Insect venom allergies
People can be allergic to an insect sting or bite.
For example, a sting by a bee or a wasp.
A person’s entire body can be affected by allergy symptoms
if they have been stung by a bee or a wasp.
If this happens,
we would say that the person is having an allergic reaction.
Insect venom allergies
The first symptoms occur very quickly after the person has been stung or bitten.
For example:
- The person’s skin turns red and is itchy.
- They have a rash on their skin.
- Their eyes and face are swollen.
- They have to vomit or have stomach pains.
- They find it difficult to breathe.
If an allergic reaction is very bad,
this can also be dangerous.
